Despite pandemic, SMILES all around

As we continue to transition through the pandemic, our SMILES Committee has been working hard to ensure that the families of Miles Perret Cancer Services are spending lots of quality time doing fun activities at home. In November, we were able to provide the families with game night baskets, which included board games and snacks. In December, we were fortunate enough to be able to host the families for an in-person night at Noel Acadien at Acadian Village! The children received light-up necklaces upon arrival. Additionally, we were able to provide Junior League of Lafayette’s Children’s Event boxes to 27 children who were not able to attend the in-person event.

This month our Committee provided 28 s’mores kits so that families could make s’mores at home. The kits included UNO cards, a tabletop mini fire pit, and all of the ingredients needed for s’mores. The families have recently received their kits to enjoy.
