Glossary At a Glance:
JLL (Junior League of Lafayette)
An organization of women whose Mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training
PEP (Project Evaluation & Planning)
A comprehensive review of all programs, committees, and activities as well as personnel and budget allocations to ensure that all resources are aligned and properly allocated to ensure Strategic Plan achievement
LBDI (Little Black Dress Initiative)
A week-long awareness and fundraising campaign that harnesses the power of social media to illustrate the restrictions poverty places on choices, opportunities, and access to resources
HER Committee (Health Essentials Resource)
Made up of 3 subcommittees: Diaper Bank, EmpowHER., and Happy Wheels. Developed to provide women and children tangible resources that impact their health and wellbeing
AJLI (The Association of Junior Leagues International)
A charitable non-profit organization that provides continuity and support, guidance, and leadership development opportunities to its Member Leagues
DC (Digital Cheetah)
The app for Junior League Members where all need-to-know information is located
BOD (Board of Directors)
The governing body of Junior League of Lafayette that ensures the future success of the League through Mission-oriented, strategic, long-term focus and fiduciary oversight
MT (Management Team)
Executes the Leagues’ programs and activities, with an operational focus on day-to-day and current year, aligned with the strategic plan and direction set by the Board of Directors
T&T (Tinsel and Treasures)
A three-day holiday market hosted by Junior League of Lafayette. This is our biggest fundraising event, and the proceeds go to local community programs benefitting women and children
DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging)
Junior League of Lafayette welcomes all women who value our Mission. We are inclusive and embrace individual differences. The DEIB committee helps ensure our work reflects these values.
HQ (Headquarters)
Junior League of Lafayette’s main building where many committee meetings are held, and much work is accomplished!
EVP (Executive Vice President)
Serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Junior League of Lafayette. She is the liaison between the Management Team and the Board of Directors. She presides over and facilitates management meetings.
EVPE (Executive Vice President Elect)
While actively learning the role to become the next EVP for the succeeding year, the EVPE supports the EVP to assure that the Management Team has the resources to accomplish their work effectively and serves as an ex-officio Member of all committees to which the EVP shall assign her.
PE (President Elect)
Assists the President and serves ex-officio on any committees to which the President shall assign her. She shall perform the duties of the President in her absence and shall succeed the President in office.
CFO (Chief Financial Officer)
Provides overall direction for all financial management, accounting, and budgeting functions on behalf of the Board of Directors.

CAW (Committee Assessment Workbooks)
Each committee chair completes this workbook each year to give feedback to the PEP committee on any changes recommended to her respective committee. This is an opportunity to evaluate each committee to make sure the budget, requirements, and goals are aligned with the League’s strategic plan and the placement is fulfilling for Members
ODI (Organizational Development Institutes)
AJLI leadership development meetings that provide Junior League Members with Mission-based training in key areas critical to the healthy functioning of a League.
GAP (Governance Advisory Panel)
Appointed by the President. A group that reviews proposed amendments to the League’s Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Standing Rules and Policies, as well as issues brought at the request of the President or Board of Directors
NDBN (National Diaper Bank Network)
A US-based nonprofit organization that is dedicated to ensuring that every child in the US has an adequate supply of diapers to remain clean, dry, and healthy. Junior League of Lafayette is part of the National Diaper Bank Network.
